Book Recommendation - 'When Breath Becomes Air' by Dr. Paul Kalanithi

It is a poignant memoir of author's own experience first as an accomplished neurosurgeon and then as a cancer patient. In a sense, this book is unfinished given author's health deteriorated to such an extent that he couldn't write any further and eventually he succumbs to cancer. It leaves you numb.

At one points author notes "If the weight of mortality does not grow lighter, does it at least get more familiar?". As a neurosurgeon, author explores the morality when he says "Learning to judge whose lives could be saved, whose couldn't be, and whose shouldn't be requires an unattainable prognostic ability."

An unputdownable book, it taught me a lot about mortality and morality. I don't think I have courage to read this again but I would if I can.
