This week I was joined by Tim Banks, Principal Cloud Economist for The Duckbill Group.

Tim’s initial journey into tech started as a US Marine. Later, he left government contracting for the private sector, working both in large corporate environments and in small startups.

Today, Tim leverages his years in operations, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering to advise and consult with clients in his current role. Today Tim shares with us, from a cloud economist point of view, what sustainability means to him. Tim is a father of 5 and also a competitive Jujitsu bad-ass!

You can reach out to Tim on Twitter @elchefe

Tim’s chosen organisation for our £500 donation is the Texas Abortion Fund. Restrictions on abortion access and funding are discriminatory because they especially burden people with low incomes, young people, people in rural areas, and people of colour. The Texas Abortion Fund oppose all efforts to restrict abortion rights and are committed to fighting for access to abortion for all. The organisation who we have chosen to shine a light on for this episode is B Lab, the nonprofit network transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet. B Lab are known for certifying B Corporations, which are companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. B Lab positively impacts companies around the world, helping them balance profit with purpose.
