It all changed when I received my rejection letter about the writer role. I had written an article for them as part of the application phase and although I felt it was quite good, I had failed. I failed because it still felt like it was in my tone of voice and not Peter's. So the rejection was justified, not to mention the location challenges.

But it was enough to poke my ego and I defaulted to a 'I'll show them' attitude. I proceeded to dive into my book and with my partner's support, I decided I would publish in late October of 2020. It was a tight timeline but I felt that any longer would take away from my career aspects and it looked like covid would clear up by years end.
