Vice President (Education)

My journey began when I joined the Malaysian Association of Sports Medicine (MASM) during my Master's training as a Sports Medicine Clinical Specialist. After learning from the respectful experts in my field for several years, my dedication led me to be elected as one of the Ordinary Council Members and ascended to Assistant Secretary, Honorary Secretary, and eventually became Vice President. During this period, I gained many valuable skills in managing a national professional academic non-profit organization. These included important soft skills such as organizational leadership, strategic plans for organizational development, effective communications with government and private sectors, strategic partnerships and sponsorship acquisition, as well as technical aptitudes such as event planning and management ranging from small-scale webinars up to national/ international physical conferences. Moreover, the hands-on experience I have gained in ensuring the smooth operation of the association through maintaining the association's official website, publishing newsletters, and creating content to increase publicity on various social media platforms is invaluable. I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to lead the team in the bidding to host the 18th Asian Federation of Sports Medicine Congress 2024 in Malaysia for the 1st time. We were so blessed to win the bid and I am very honoured to be appointed as the Organizing Chairperson. I strongly believed with the help of a dedicated group of experienced organizing committees with support from the governments (Sabah state and federal government) and private partners, the upcoming AFSM Congress 2024 will be an incredible congress, where the participants will have tremendous latest knowledge sharing in a futuristic atmosphere under the land below the wind - Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, which is famous with its rich eco-nature system and multiple ethnics and cultures that live in peace and harmony.
