Started a new company
Today is the day! Happy to launch Kampung Collective together with my co-founder Alex Loh.

Kampung Collective is a Community for Community Builders across Asia. It is a ground-up-approach trusted and non-discriminatory support network for community builders where we hope to add value to each others' roles as community builders.

Kampung means "village" in Malay and its a way of life and culture that, in today's society, we do not see and feel much of anymore. Trusting, helping, caring, and sharing was the way of life, where neighbors and even the "village" were considered extended family. Kampung Collective aims to serve this function, to help and see all members succeed in their respective community-building roles.

What we hope to achieve:
  • Be the support network and "extended family" for community builders so that they enjoy longevity in the community building space.
  • Be a platform to allow for consolidation, learning, and sharing of knowledge - different individuals in different community-building spaces of brands, businesses, and products finding common ground. We embrace diversity.
  • codifying common ground and definitions (ie. What is community building? How does a community look like? What’s the future for community builders? What are skillsets and tools required to build/grow community vs manage community? How do we measure community?)
  • Identity, provide clarity and create structure and frameworks for non-community builders to consider the profession or for community builders to self-nourish and be a better version of themselves.
  • Be a platform for in-route career and career advancement in the community building space.
