⚖️Wokeism and Cancel Culture❌

One of the hardest topic I’ve moderated till date. We were pretty apprehensive about discussing this topic as it’s highly sensitive and we were wary about the discourse that can be ensued.

However, I would like to give a shoutout to all the youth speakers who picked up the courage to speak their mind, share their opinions and reflections on Clubhouse last night - Adriel Yong Han Yun Chua Chloe Tan Ze Hui Ngiam Marcus Cheu I Millennial High-Performance Coach I Mindset

Being “woke” is having awareness of issues that concern social justice and racial justice.

But weaponizing Wokeism - turning it into “character-assassination-smear-tactics”, inflicting harm, canceling and destroying someone’s life just because they are ignorant or have differing viewpoints on issues - this is condemnable and shouldn’t be encouraged.

Awareness is one thing, but knowing how to act on that awareness is another. No matter we agree or disagree with a viewpoint, always come from a place of compassion and have empathy. Ask and listen before we jump the gun and state our point.

There’s so much more we can all learn about this topic. Having open and respectful conversations are great first steps!
