Advocated for LGBTQ+ Rights
Super proud and honored to be part of this super important conversation organized by Facebook together with the other amazing panelist Kathy Teo Karen Teo Tony Chow, 周保华 Azfar B. Anwar - "Are We Ready for LGBTQ+ Marketing".

Here are some key takeaways I had.

- Brands who claim to support the LGBTQ+ community and "rainbow-washing" themselves, but yet don't have policies in place that actually practice what they preach should steer clear of any form of advertising that takes advantage of Pride.

- Ask yourself as a Brand: Do you really support the LGBTQ+ community? Does your company actively support LGBTQ+ charities/groups/movements? Are you an advocate on all levels? Or do you only want to "sell to the community" and cash in the pink-dollars? Have a clear purpose!

- Being authentic and consistent in what you preach in all aspects. Because "Realness" is what people care about now and it is easy to tell if you are faking it.

- Be ready to stand firm to what you believe. When you do Pride Marketing, you are in a way representing the community. Do not shy away from negative comments. In fact, take those as great opportunities to educate the market.
