Executive summary:

I'm currently a non-traditional graduate student at Johns Hopkins. I served for 3 years as the vice chair of the Iowa Democratic Party, where I worked on statewide initiatives and represented the party on press tours. I stepped down to run for the Iowa House in 2020. After I lost (as a Democrat in an R+7 district), I knew I wanted to do something to make a positive difference in the world. I went back to graduate school, pursuing a Master of Arts in Government, and in the process, re-discovered a love of data analysis and visualization.

Previously, in Shanghai, China, as Director of Marketing for a multinational company, I supervised an international team through the opening of a hospital. Before that, I worked for the world's second largest market research firm, where I led the development and management of China's first multi-city pharmaceutical panel, as well as managing consumer research for several FMCG clients. I also worked for China's first internet audience measurement company, responsible for analyzing data and writing their key syndicated research reports for mainland China.

Before my graduation in May 2023, I'm currently open to remote (or local) part-time jobs/internships, and am particularly interested in putting my data analysis and visualization skills to work for an organization that is working on solving societal problems.
