Creating AWS Certified course content
Today I published my free Google Cloud study course.

This is a big milestone since this means that I now have a free cloud certification course for AWS, Azure and GCP. (Oracle is not as popular but technically 4 providers)

So I've made some progress with my synthetic voice. With about ~1000 voice clips the results are quite decent. Still, more can be done to improve the quality.

It looks like recording and shipping a cloud certification course every week for the past 5 weeks has been a serious toll on my voice. I have the Google Cloud Digital Leader study course 95% recorded and I'm at a dead stop.

I don't know how long I need to rest my voice, but since I am not one to stop I've been investigating custom synthesize voices.

There are multiple commercial providers but they are very expensive with upfront prices ranging from $1000 to 10,000 USD.

So I've decided to train my own model using Coqui TTS framework.

I'm hoping I can finish the course with my own DIY synthetic voice.

The SC-900 is now released for free on freeCodeCamp.

Next week I'll be releasing the Google Cloud Digital Team Leader, though I have to sit the exam first because there are no practice exams and I have no idea what to expect.

I will probably be the first to produce a practice exam and give a thorough analysis of this new certification.

I am curious to see if Google Cloud worked in digital transformation into the course.

Even though I have drafted out an entire course I have put zero effort to retain any GCP-specific information because I want to see if using my Azure and AWS knowledge will be enough to translate over.

Attending re:Invent
I am going to re:Invent in-person this year. I have been to re:Inforce but never the big one. The largest obstacle for me has been the overall cost because I'm from Canada.

  • ~$1000 USD - Airfare
  • $1,788 USD - Ticket Price
  • ~$1,00 USD - Hotel
So you're looking at around ~$5,000 CAD

I am fortunate that I am an AWS Community Hero so these costs are taken care of for me. I am not really one for tech-talks since I've iterated across AWS services many times over. So I will likely be on the floor connecting with people.

Another free cloud certification course by yours truly.
This is the Azure AI-900 AI Fundamentals.

My personal interest was to dig into Azure's ML Studio to see how it compares against SageMaker and because I need to use a variety on managed ML services to build out a AI-assisted proctor system for my secure online exams for TeacherSeat.

I probably will end up using AWS's managed AI services but AWS doesn't have an AI Fundamentals so I used Azure as a study vehicle.
