Learnt SQL

MySQL = Learnt.

I’m going on 2 years of using and developing with MySQL. Before that, I was using restrictive plugins to manage database information that I didn’t even understand. I was doing backend (pretty poorly) without even knowing it.

Now, you could still argue that I don’t know what I’m doing, but I’m doing it a lot better with MySQL! It’s given me the infrastructure to neatly store a ton of information that I need to deploy on basically every page of my website. Not to mention I’ve been able to draw large filtered datasets with a lot of specificity. My MySQL use has grown directly alongside my PHP development.

Overall, I think MySQL is very user friendly and relatively simple to adopt. If I ever get to a point where my site/company needs additional talent, MySQL is going to be an absolute must.
