Advising the government
Disease Control and Prevention
Lumpy Skin Disease is killing 600-700 cattle a day in the state of Rajasthan and may cause a significant dip in daily milk production. Over the last month alone, the viral disease has spread to various states across India and has already killed approx. 60000 cattle in the country. Considering the fact that India is the largest milk producer in the world, the disease could have serious ramifications for dairy and associated industries across the globe.

To curb the spread of this virus, I am working closely with the relevant departments of the Government of India to help them take rapid measures to curb the spread through swift policy development and implementation and by encouraging industry participation to expedite the release of effective treatments on priority for the treatment and prevention of this epidemic.
