Mischief Managed! (2018)

Giving a presentation
My daughter's elementary school gives all the students Chromebooks. Unfortunately their password policy is terrible -- a lengthy number (10-digits long) of which the first 6 digits is the same for everyone followed by 4-digits that can be found pretty easily (it's the student ID number).

Her class was having issues where students would figure out the passwords of other students and then get into each other's computers and mess around with stuff.

I volunteered to give a presentation about basic Password Hygiene, and we discussed some ways to create good passwords that are easy to remember.

Incidentally, I did reach out to School District IT as well as the Superintendent, and there was no interest in changing things. Unfortunate since there are similar password practices in place for personal identifying information in school profiles.
