One of the first projects I worked on with Kalo (Lystable) was gathering the best of best freelancers in different niches.

- Animators, Designers (UX/UI/Product/Web), Copywriters, Brand Managers, Writers, Producers, Art Directors, Creative Directors, Fashion Stylist, Photographers, and more...

The most challenging batch was Translators. Tried using different directories, most helpful was TranslatorsCafe and Proz.

Started recurring webinars to help the Sales team scale product demos. Experimented with different setups to attract and convert more leads.

The marketing promotion is key for success. It’s a 2-week sprint, exploring different channels for lead acquisition — including ads, email outreach campaigns, and social media. We test a channel quickly, analyze results, stop it or expand on it.

A list of independent brand companies was provided. I was able to pull contact details of the following roles Brand Managers and Digital/eCommerce Marketing Managers.

I used LinkedIn Sales Navigator as the main tool. LinkedIn profile URL, email address, and location of the contact person were needed.

Gathered tech investors via AngelList

The client ended the contract on Upwork today which started in 2017.

Project description: the client needs a list of tech investors in the US.

The process of collection was in all states but the search algorithm of Angel.co wasn't that adaptive as how I want it to be, it has a search result limit. And so I proposed to gather by location then narrow it down by market to get those active tech investors.

I was able to get 2,000 active Tech Investors from the United States, more from California & New York, and the rest were from the other states. Attached is how the data pull looked like.

This project was paid by milestones, received 4 milestones in total.

Happy to say I've made a couple of improvements to drumrole.co:

  • You can now sign up for a weekly email to get all the new jobs added in the past week
  • And some tweaks to make the site faster
Making the site load faster was quite the can of worms.

Turns out hacking something together that works and doing it in a way that is efficient can be two different things - who knew 😉
