In my time with Capital One, I’ve had the pleasure to work on numerous projects, lead multiple programs and design tool trainings all while having access to the best talent within the design industry. One program I was particularly passionate about was managing the Messaging Design System.


This work included revamping all of our guidelines and design templates for Email, SMS, and Push Notifications. I started by gathering a committee of designers, copywriters, and researchers to assist with decision making and we would connect monthly to discuss and plan all the work in flex. The last project I worked on before voluntarily exiting the company was operating the first Visual Audit for all of our messages and empathy interviews with our brand creatives. The goal of this research was to reveal any opportunities within our design system, which would assist us in improving our current style guides and pattern libraries. This work excited me because I got to collaborate closely with stakeholders to help deliver important reports with the improvements necessary to avoid our companys’ brand being at risk . It was as equally challenging as it was fascinating to learn about the importance of design systems within a huge company.
