I took the “typical” path towards a mission-driven career by playing professional golf coming out of college. After three years, two wrist surgeries, and seven months of physical therapy, I decided to challenge myself in new ways while striving to have a positive impact on community and the environment. That took me to Guatemala where I started and operated an agricultural export subsidiary for a company out of California. I spent two years building the company to over 100 employees, remodeling the processing facility, building a product procurement portfolio to meet buy-side contracts, and ultimately creating a joint venture with local business partners. Needless to say, with that experience the bar was set for how I wanted to contribute in life and what I wanted to get out of my career. Since my time in Central America, I have been a founder or management team member of early-stage companies across the water, energy storage, and aerospace sectors; I managed a multi-million dollar water sourcing, storage, and delivery project; I developed comprehensive strategic plans for an $800MM land conservation effort, and led strategic planning for a $500MM ecological flow coalition; and, he raised a $1.5MM seed round and managed customer discovery and business development as a cofounder of a battery energy storage company that was part of the inaugural Techstars Sustainability Accelerator cohort. I identify as an Authentic Catalyzer, operating at the intersection of being an entrepreneur, intuitive leader, and humanist to drive value, optimize strategies, and positively impact lives.
