Hi, I'm Calvin! I'm generally a software engineer, and currently, I'm freelancing/consulting for various organizations and working on side projects full time. I care deeply about ethics in technology and I make sure to work on projects that reflect that.

I graduated in 2019 from UC Berkeley with a degree in Computer Science - while I was in school, I interned for Autodesk in 2016, Slack in 2017, and was a HackNY Fellow in 2018. At Autodesk, I implemented a data dashboard to monitor the health of my team's services. At Slack, I worked on new features for the desktop app that were rolled out to all of its customers, and lastly, while I was a HackNY Fellow, I managed a team of 4 fellows that developed and successfully handed off a webapp to our social good partner, a company called Cognitive Toybox, that's working on closing educational gaps in young children. We accomplished this all outside of our separate full-time tech internships, meeting after work and on weekends, and that experience strongly shaped my approach to working on what matters to me.

I was also a developer and the VP of Projects for a student organization I was deeply involved in, Cal Blueprint, which designs and implements web applications for nonprofits. I started as a developer, where my team and I handed off a web application for Re-plate, a nonprofit tackling food insecurity, which is still used in production today. I helped build and implement projects for two other nonprofits before graduation (one succeeded, and one didn't 😔).

Post-grad, I went on to work fulltime at Honor, a series D startup focusing on fixing home care for the elderly population. I eventually quit to work on my own projects, and I'm hopeful to continue to work on building software that adds more than monetary value to society.
