In this episode, I had a chance to interview Camilo from CM Designs, a digital artist from Columbia who’s built a global audience for his amazing Cover Art designs. Across social media, he’s amassed a community of over 90,000 people and it's mind blowing to see how committed they are to helping him grow. He creates custom album covers for artists around the world and even has an ecommerce site where his community can buy prints of his most popular works.
I came across his Tiktok account a few months ago and I was blown away by how active his community was. People are commenting, buying prints, actively communicating with him, etc. Camilo truly represents the idea that the internet makes the world accessible.
In this interview, he talks about his creative process, lessons learned as he built his business, how to develop a community, and even about Vexillology, the study of flags. Haha just wait for it, it’s really cool.
