Gave a talk at Global Azure 2023

Gave a presentation
Microsoft Azure

I gave a talk at the Azure Usergroup Danmark as part of the Global Azure event on May 12. This was the first time I gave a talk to a live audience, so of course I was a bit nervous. The talk expanded on a previous presentation I gave to a small online community within our Azure customer program.

The main idea of the talk is to show how a small company with limited resources can build a successful app on Azure. I came up with the idea, because I was always wondering how small companies handle the challenges that come when moving to the cloud. The cloud has many advantages, but the journey towards establishing an efficient cloud operation can be hard. When looking at examples and documentation, one mostly finds case studies and examples for large companies or other use cases that are not relevant for small companies. So, I tried to give a talk that I would have liked to hear 3 years ago when we started. The aim was to motivate small companies and teams to use the cloud to their advantage and to show that you can build a great product with standardized cloud components.

The experience was good. I learned a lot from preparing the talk and listening to the other speakers. I think my performance could have been better. I found it challenging to communicate my ideas with the clarity I would have liked. I think that is something that really needs to be trained in the future. Otherwise, it was a really great event with great organizers and speakers who were great at sharing their knowledge.
