My first time traveling out of the country was to Italy. I stayed in Caserta, a small city 20 minutes outside Naples, for 3 months. While there I also visited Rome and Capri both of which were breathtaking. I even ran into Samuel L Jackson while in Capri (random lol). It really showed me just how BIG the world really is. Having never been out of the country, I saw a whole new world (Alexa play The Disney Aladdin theme song).
Italy had always been a place I wanted to visit since I was young. Seeing it in person was exhilarating and I even learned some Italian. The food was AMAZING. I got to try authentic Italian pizza, pasta, and wine. The spaghetti was life changing! I kept trying to recreate it when I got back to the states but nothing really comes close.
I'm so glad I got the experience when I did. Once you start life as an adult with a career, bills, and other responsibilities....it leaves little time for carefree travel. If you have the opportunity when you are young or in college, take it! You won't regret it.
