I’m Michael Kohl, generally known as citizen428 online. I started programming in BASIC on my Commodore 64 and am lucky enough that I could turn my hobby into a career: over the years I worked as a systems engineer, software developer, penetration tester, CTO, engineering manager, and IT journalist.

I’m also very interested in community building. I previously ran the Lambdaheads functional programming user group in Vienna, and am currently involved in Bangkok.rb, RubyConf Thailand, as well as PyCon Thailand.
