Being a researcher and an artist means that I get to write as well as paint some 'abstracts'! 
Here's a picture of the one I painted. I seem to find abstracts to be perfectly cryptic, wholly personal--which anyone can see but no one has to know. (Of course, not the same case with academic abstracts, but I'll leave that discussion for some other day.)
