Had an idea
In December of 2012, I formally jotted down an idea that had been brewing for months. I wanted to create an online magazine for women at work. It would provide helpful resources while helping women navigate the day as their true and authentic selves.

"Authentic" wasn't widely used in this context back then. So, the emotion I wanted to convey was tough to articulate. It was about boldness, strength, bringing you full self to the office, and defying conventions. "Go rogue," I thought. It was counter cultural, but a message I thought women were ready to hear.

In March of the following year, Sheryl Sandberg published Lean In. I soon realized exactly how counter cultural my approach truly was.
