The plight of women at work was quickly becoming a hot topic, but it was framed as ¨lean in¨ and adapt or abandon ship altogether.

I believed we were failing to assess and fix underlying problems. And when Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic published his infamous article "Why Do So Many Incompetent Men Become Leaders?" later that month, I knew I was on the right path. There was undoubtedly more to the story of gender disparities at work.
