This time last year I had just starting doing production/broadcast for our premiere sim racing league, Pro Series 2020.
I got given 3 weeks notice from my boss to learn about real-life racing, sim racing, ACC and a professional level of broadcasting to be able to put on a show for Pro Series all with very limited equipment and knowledge. It was great to have the professional talent of Marius Roberts and Ernest Page as the dynamic duo commentators come onboard.
This year we we able to onboard Mercedes-Benz South Africa as our title sponsor as well as Coach Dave Academy, MSA and Kyalami 9 Hour. The competition has never been so fierce in our Pro Division with only 30 points separating the top 15.
The series pretty much started my love for a higher level of broadcasting in the esports scene, we have since done quite a few projects for external clients such as the Virtual Knysna Speed Festival Simola Hillclimb where I developed and broadcasted the circuit as well as the Grow uP eSports GirlGamer Africa Challenge. I aspire to be able to compete on the same level as brands like ESL Gaming.
