With the onset of the 'new normal', I had more time to reflect and think about my digital adventure. From the humble MS-DOS to Windows 3.11. Then up to the present Windows 10/11 and everything in between. In between refers to Solaris SVR4, Redhat, Mandrake/Mandriva, Solaris, SuSE, Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, GhostBSD, LFS, Manjaro, ArchLinux, PopOS, RocketLinux, AlmaLinux, etc.

MS-DOS was my first introduction to computer software, or to computers for that matter. The screen was black and one had to use the keyboard in order to get the computer to 'do something'. It was new, it was terse, the learning curve was quite steep, this was coming from a total noob at that time.

Fast forward to today, there are more options to choose from. From the many linux distributions that suits your fancy, to the mainstream OS (Windows/Mac), to those that has community support like Haiku, ReactOS and SerenityOS.

The list is by no means complete, just head over to distrowatch.com to have an idea of the different Linux/BSD distributions in existence.
