Mental Health Matters


October is the month of Mental Health, where we mark and celebrate Mental Health Day, ADHD Awareness Month, Dyslexia Awareness Week, National Stress Awareness Day and more.

"Health is not just about what you are eating. It's also about what you are thinking and saying." - Buddha

Therefore, it's important for us all to increase our awareness and understand the difficulties each and everyone is facing, and reach out with a helping hand where possible.

"Stress is one of our greatest public health challenges, but it still isn't taken seriously compared to physical illness. Stress is a significant factor in mental health problems like anxiety and depression, and is also linked to physical problems such as heart disease, insomnia, digestive issues, and problems with our immune system." - NHS

We also invited Karen Bellfield (Mental Health Champion) from Spill to join one of our Brown Bag Sessions to deliver a talk on Mental Health and share suggestions and improvements we all can make in our day to day life to look after our mental health and wellbeing.
