Omics Logic, a Platform for Data Science Training in Life Sciences

Omics Logic is a platform for students, universities and companies that addresses the growing need for data analysis skills for life science students. Students with life science expertise can learn data analytics skills in the context of biotechnology, healthcare and pharmaceutical industries and develop impactful and high paying careers. The platform connects universities to the biotechnology and healthcare industry needs and offers them case studies with online resources to implement in existing curricula. Companies are offered a highly-specialized workforce with analytical skills and interdisciplinary experience that can be evaluated and hired for in-demand positions.


The platform is a mix between EdTech and Analytics, offering “Harvard Business Review” style of case studies in genomics and a platform for students to showcase their skills similar to “Kaggle”. 


The OmicsLogic platform offers:


  1. Online training
    in specialized and general data analytics, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on emerging technologies in life sciences: biomedical, genomics and population health data.
  2. For faculty, the training resources are organized around case studies in oncology, infectious disease, neuroscience and biotechnology with Harvard Business Review style resources that can be used in the classroom or online.
  3. In addition to asynchronous training, Omics Logic hosts regular training programs led by academic experts and industry professionals that can be hired as mentors to help conduct training, troubleshoot analytical projects or assist in curriculum development.
  4. To validate their expertise, students can build up their profile that tracks course completion, skills competency. They are also encouraged to develop a project portfolio to showcase their work to potential academic and industry recruiters.

We are developing a matching algorithm to offer job opportunities, internships and skill building experiences for students according to their level of expertise, training interest and career aspirations.
