Hello, World! I'm Ellie, a WordPress and Front End Web Developer looking for my next role with an exciting and innovative team!

I am passionate about using design and development to make the internet a more helpful and accessible space for all. I also like to keep learning new things, so I am always adding to my skills.

I had a pretty non-traditional background before becoming a developer: retail, elementary school librarian, phlebotomist & front-desk person at an outpatient clinic laboratory, and administrative assistant. I found my way back to code (shout out to MySpace for introducing us!) and self-directed my learning using community resources such as FreeCodeCamp.org, Udemy, and Skillcrush. In 2019, I was accepted into the San Diego Workforce Partnership and the University of California San Diego Extension’s Income Share Agreement Program. I graduated in November 2020 and earned my certification as a Front End Web Developer.

My work experience as a WordPress developer brought me skills in working in a fast-paced, client-driven environment, excellent communication, and experience with developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting websites in a content management system. I also have a strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, G Suite, and content production and organization. My time as a Web Content Producer also gave me the skills to skillfully navigate and organize large amounts of data for the website and mobile app. My transition into tech also helped me learn to be confident diving in and learning new programs and systems, having gone from administrative assistant to developer.

Outside of work, my hobbies include listening to music, collecting Disney memorabilia, reading tarot, and continually learning new skills that will help me grow as a designer and developer. I also love to attend meetups and volunteer with organizations like the San Diego chapters of Women Who Code and Girls in Tech.
