Personally, building relationships is hard. First impressions can be everything, or not matter at all. It depends on who you meet. But it's easy to get caught up in your own thoughts, your own insecurities, and your own reluctance to socialise... and that affects how people perceive you.
There are layers to who I am. It's hard to immediately show the real me on the first encounter. And that's okay because the relationships I have built, the people that were patient with me, and that I'm now comfortable with, bring so much value to my life.
