Delivered a group training session
I facilitated a training session on Financial Services Industry risk over two days last week to the incredibly brilliant Graduate Trainees of Nigeria's Coronation Merchant Bank Group.

We discussed a range of issues including risk modelling, risk mitigation strategies for regulatory and financial risks, hedging using listed and bilateral derivatives, cyber risk, corporate governance, data aggregation and reporting, and rethinking compliance and enterprise risk management as sources of competitive advantage.

We also had an intimate look at financial crises and the class dissected the collapse of four financial institutions (spanning hedge funds and investment banks) and one emerging market economy - drawing out the sombre lessons therein.

It's always exciting interacting and learning from the exceptional  minds entering the industry and I look forward to great things ahead for this cohort. Thanks to Adedayo Adeyemi and the team at Zeal Professional Services for inviting me back to facilitate this year's edition of the session.
