2021 has been an extraordinary year for privacy. Both Google and Apple are pushing ahead with exciting approaches for more privacy-preserving mobile ecosystems.
As part of my PhD at Oxford, I'm proud to have built a somewhat popular privacy app (recently passed 100,000 downloads) and a vibrant and welcoming community around it, TrackerControl.
This community has not only provided a wealth of important input for the development of the app, but helped translate the app into almost 20 languages.
