Globally, the provision of adequate housing has become a huge challenge for national authorities in most developing
countries. More people are becoming homeless, slums and squatter settlements are increasing and houses prices continue to
escalate. This scheme blends the importance and satisfaction derive from housing in the local context of life of the people of
Juaben in the Ashanti region of Ghana with affordability and social cohesion being the dominant considerations.
