I spent the summer and early fall of 2019 uncovering where there's a tech ecosystem with as much influence on the local economy as Silicon Valley but without all the noise. That's when I learned about the work happening in Salt Lake City, Utah.
I attended the Silicon Slopes Summit in January of 2020 after months of building relationships with private industry AND local public school districts. The Summit is where we began to establish these public/private partnerships to create the kind of tech workforce development pathway that could lead to jobs for high school graduates.
