Book Review: The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and Other Clinical TalesĀ

Psychology and neurology are subject that has always interested me, but I find that books that tackle this subject are too hard for me to read. So I was very interested in this book which according to the author blends the scientific with the romantic, and for the most part, it succeeds. Reading these stories gives me a sense of awe and horror. I admire the people in these stories but can't imagine how I would be in their shoes. My favorite stories were; The Disembodied Lady, The Men Who Fell out of Bed, Phantoms, The Possessed, Incontinent Nostalgia, and A Passage to India. Most of the stories I loved were at the beginning of the book because as I go along the chapters it became more scientific and hard for me to understand and this is where the book failed me. All in all the book was great, the stories I understood were brilliant tales, and while some of the stories were difficult for me, it was still interesting and got me curious enough to try and read through them.
