Greetings! I’m Shayna “Akanke” Marie, founder of Reaching Beyond Bias. I am currently building a platform that includes a podcast, and my goal is to spread awareness about unconscious bias, how to overcome it… and also to share diverse experiences and perspectives on issues that matter in a raw, relatable way. I would love to facilitate trainings in the future, but for now I am focused on learning and growing as much as I can while finishing school. I am also a writer and poet, and I love to convey elements of pain, pleasure, self-love, and empowerment … as well as issues pertaining to various diversity topics such as race, gender, ability, and more in my work.
