Advocated for my child
Sometimes, you have to ask for another opinion, even if you deal with professionals. My 6yo was prescribed to wear glasses. She has never complained of any issues with her vision. So she was seen by another, yet more experienced specialist, to come to the conclusion she has a perfect vision. Mindblowing, right?

My takeaway from this is: whether in a professional setting or in a personal one, trust your gut and don't be afraid to advocate for what you believe in. 

And why am I saying it here? Because I believe that being a parent is not a professional handicap. I believe in the opposite.

Getting it done
