Gave a talk
Helped self taught developers
As part of Spark Networks' ongoing partnerships with various coding bootcamps I gave a talk to Le Wagon's current students about making that jump from learning to code to actually succeeding in your first tech job.

As a career changer I know how it feels looking for that first developer job. It can be hard to know how to stand out, junior developer roles are not as abundant and those mid/senior roles and it's much more competitive.

I wanted to give some practical advice apart from the usual 'do loads of data structures and algo' practices (which might prepare you for interviews but not the actual job!)

After the talk and Q&A I was super happy to receive messages on LinkedIn from students that attended telling me how they really appreciated the practical and honest advice from someone who has really done what they are aiming for.
The best feedback I got was that the talk gave a lot of students hope and motivation that they really will get that first job in tech 🥰
