Jarod Courtney

When I joined the team at The Nike Store in Eugene, Oregon as a senior in high school, little did I know it would be the beginning of a 22-year career. During my time at Nike, I had the privilege of working with the best athletes in the world while building a diverse breadth of experience spanning product creation and management, brand marketing, strategic planning, purpose integration, and retail.

After making the decision to leave Nike in the Fall of 2020, I began contemplating the next chapter. Throughout my career, I've been fueled by an entrepreneurial spirit, a bias for collaboration, a consistently optimistic outlook, and the thrill of turning deep insights into effective strategies for game-changing results. This drive, combined with my passion for people and leadership, made the choice to co-found Merify with a few good friends an easy one.

Through leading growth for Merify, I get to connect daily with like-minded career industry professionals who work tirelessly to see increased representation of minority groups in tech, endeavor to reduce bias in hiring, and strive to bring humanity back to the process of finding a job and growing a career.

I'm fortunate to call Portland, Oregon home along with my wife, Jess, and our daughter, Sloane. I believe in the power of volunteering and have served as a Big Brother for Big Brothers/Big Sisters and as a multi-year Mentor for the University of Oregon Sports Product Management Master's program. In my spare time, you can find me at a concert enjoying live music, or outdoors camping, fly fishing, cycling, trail running, and hiking.
