Attended the Judy Chicago exhibit at the de Young Museum. I had previously read that the exhibit was supposed to elicit a range of feelings and it sure did. Initially faced by the good old question of mortality, followed by questions of morality in our treatment of nature and animals to our own benefits, her view on the Holocaust arising from Western industrialization, the universe creation through a woman giving birth and putting woman as the first creation in earth, finally ending with a collection of her abstract paints and videos of the release of colorful "fumes".
