I was lucky enough that my internship at MTV was extended past the typical 10 weeks and I was kept on to work the entire duration of the summer. While my internship technically ended on August 23, I was asked to work the VMAs that Sunday.
Originally my role was kept fairly simple as the intern, just helping the team out where they needed, but after a very last-minute crisis, I was asked to live-tweet the VMAs from the @MTV Twitter handle about an hour before the show officially started. It was my first VMAs both working and live-tweeting for MTV, but certainly not my last.
