To file a loan application, users needed to capture images of various documents including the loan application form, ID proof, etc - mostly numbering upto 20 pages.
When car dealers and sales executives tried to file loan applications they complained about the time it took.
I looked at the analytics and saw that each loan application was taking around six minutes.
We saw that the camera module was opening and closing each time a page was captured. This was slowing the whole thing down.
We took inspiration from Snapchat with its always open camera to redesign our camera interface to keep it open in the background with the tags of documents as overlays.
This resulted in 60% reduction in the time spent taking the images down to 1.5 minutes.
This feature was also reused in our companion app to take images of the car's exterior to certify the condition of the car, leading to an increased time-saving.
