As my final project, I documented the similarities between Spanish culture and Hong Kong culture and created Home Hong.
Home Kong is a transmedia photography project that paints an unusual portrait of Hong Kong, in an attempt by myself to understand the city as a newcomer. Home Kong documents a personal story of enculturation through images that show similarities between daily life in Hong Kong and in Spain. Dim sum are the tapas of Southeast Asia, roasted chestnut and sweet potato stalls also abound in Hong Kong's autumns, and even the wet markets have an Andalusian feel. Through this game of looking for resemblances with the Spain of her childhood, I invite you to discover Hong Kong as I did during my first year as a resident in the region.
