Raised in the midst of floods of scooters, pasquinades, and the Colosseum, I was taught by Piero Angela to be fascinated with the wonders of the Cosmos. I am now a post-doc at Università degli Studi di Trieste and Osservatorio Astronomico di Trieste. Here, I study the physical and thermodynamic properties of the hot, ionized gas residing in galaxy clusters, the "largest gravitationally-bound objects in our Universe".
