Last week I released Part One of my two-part blog series on Early-Stage Hiring for Engineering Teams. I discussed how early engineering hires will set the tone for the company's future engineering culture which will have a permanent impact on the company’s ability to deliver on product objectives. As such, I advocated that it’s critical to approach engineering hiring with a rigorous and repeatable process that ensures quality and consistency.

In Part Two, I discussed the three technical interviews in more detail: the technical screen, the systems design interview, and the coding assessment. I gave some tips on how to construct each session and what the structure and objectives of each discussion should be. I also provided some content on how both candidates and interviewers might prepare for these meeting so that everyone can get the most value from the interview.
