Began volunteering as a Community Manager for Mutual Aid Tompkins, a Facebook group started alongside the pandemic to ensure our neighbors were cared for.

I collaborated with another volunteer Community Manager to create their digital accessibility style guide which included the current accessibility best practices. 
Impressing the intersection of inclusion and disability justice in mutual aid work, we led the charge in ensuring members, and other moderators alike, adhered to these guidelines. We encouraged members of the group to use image descriptions, edit Facebook's automatically generated alt text, and to caption or transcribe video and audio media. 

I left this volunteer role in June 2021.
