Read Invisible Women by Caroline Criado Perez
I would rate this as one of the most important books I read this year and one that I highly recommend for everyone working in any industry. It's mind-boggling to read about the kind of gender data bias and blindness that exists in every sphere of the world. Everything from cars to medical equipment to disaster relief programs are designed keeping the male default in mind. And of course, this bias is also predominant in the tech industry, no surprise there.

The needs and perspectives of women are entirely ignored in policy formulation, decision-making and scientific research. This book talks about how the gender data gap has huge implications that only serve to further perpetuate discrimination against women and make the world a much harder place for us to live in.
