It’s been known that the best way to pick up a new skill is by studying references and practising imitations. This was especially prevalent in my time working with more trend-focused clients as such.
In the early days of familiarising myself with this client, I scoured through Pinterest boards researching inspirational mooncake content. I quickly noticed an emerging trend of top-down shots framing mooncakes within pictures of literal moons in the sky. Hence, why it came as no surprise when this post concept was proposed just a week later.
I felt more prepared having recently acquired 2 new teapot sets for the studio. The faux flowers and plate were ready for me to pick out. Then, it was just a matter of getting the right proportions and shade of yellow against the plate. Since the backdrop was yellow as well, maintaining a cohesive balance was key while allowing the mooncakes to stand out.
The concept was uncomplicated and very executable. Yet, it could only have been possible with the vigilance and intention that comes with staying on top of trends. My respect goes out to my fellow digital marketing professionals.
