Bubbles Are Props Too: Unique Set Dressing

How many people can draw a bubble bath for their job? Though it may sound comical in retrospect, I do love what I do because of such unpredictable undertakings. Creating a scene or picture means anything you can imagine.

The assignment was straightforward: showcase the client’s pampering hotel room amenities. Specifically, this post was focused on the luxurious bath guests can experience with all the necessary accessories already included in their bathrooms. This meant most of the logistics would be provided by the client.

Aside from the bubble bath solution, the only other props needed were a small plate and spoon to display the bath salts and soap. However, the final composition only included the spoon from the studio. A tedious stage was shaping the bubbles. Although, no more so than experimenting with the right camera angle without looking awkward or catching a reflection.

I’ve said it time and time again but even a simple still shot demands an immense sum of work for one good moment to be captured. Would you have considered that there was a base inside the little bowl of bath salts to prop up the mount and save on material?
