Getting A Hang Of The Great Prop Run

Though I didn’t grow up with the Toast Box nostalgia many Singaporeans did, it still warmed my heart to see the wonderfully positive reception of this post.

Sourcing props was minimal besides the school and office items I brought. Logistics provided by the client were the food and beverages as usual. There was some concern from a colleague about sourcing the appropriate school uniform. Fortunately, I’d just begun acclimatising to life in Singapore and was easily able to source them promptly!

Casting and aligning the talent schedules was a small hurdle at the start but the outcome was still manageable. Liaising with the talents for wardrobe went smoothly though.

What followed was the challenge of filming the scenes in their fully-operational outlet. We needed enough space without disrupting patrons and employees so I coordinated with my creative to clear the path when possible.

Unquestionably, the music selection was crucial in creating the sentimental effect that carried the nostalgia. I tip my hat to our creatives on the edit as always!
