Simple Applications Of “Show, Don’t Tell”

Food Stylist
Prop Master

The concept of simplicity never ceases to amaze me. So much can be said with so little in a concise visual medium: this post was a prime example.

Our goal was to promote the client’s many frozen burger products. Rather than cook every single burger to prop in a group shot with the packaging, the most elegant execution was far simpler. In just one short GIF, we could engage the audience with the animation of the packaging while showcasing a single burger as a centrepiece.

Fortunately, the box packaging could be opened and folded back to appear untampered. This allowed us to remove the frozen contents and address any condensation. Emptied boxes provided easier mobility between frames without risk of soddening the backdrop. Lastly, I prepared our featured burger with backup ingredients for any necessary replenishment.

I had a lot of fun coordinating with my team as we took turns moving each box in their traffic-like motion. Though, tilting the burger to expose the layered construction and vibrant colours.
